Awe-inspiring Teachers Deserve An Awe-inspiring Reward

Rafters dwarfed by Vulcan's Anvil, a lump of cooled magma in the middle of the Colorado RiverRafters examining Vulcan's Anvil, one of Grand Canyon's geological wonders. The magma plug towers 50 feet over the river, part of an ancient volcanic system that dammed the Canyon about three quarters of a million of years ago.

Your contribution to the Grand Canyon Teacher Scholarship Fund will be used to provide an all-expenses-paid trip on the National Center for Science Education's annual Grand Canyon raft trip to selected teachers. This is a unique opportunity for exceptional science teachers to spend 8 days exploring the geology and natural history of one of the world's great natural wonders.

On their vacation in Earth's greatest geology classroom, teachers will hike and swim, sleep under the stars and bask in a landscape that can be explored no other way. When they get home, the teachers will develop lesson plans based on their experience in the Canyon, so that other teachers can share the benefits of this experience.

Your contribution makes this exceptional opportunity possible. Thank you.
